submit to Clio before the end of June!

Clio is the official literary magazine of Hodie et Cras, founded to publish bold, original student work that reimagines the ancient world for a modern context. Named after the Muse of history, Clio is a space for creative engagement with Classical thought—through poetry, essays, translations, visual art, and more.

What We Publish

We welcome submissions from students across all experience levels. You don’t need to be in Latin or Greek, just curious about how the past still shapes us.

Types of work we accept:
• Poetry (English, Latin, or Greek)
• Personal essays and reflections
• Annotated translations
• Visual art inspired by Classical themes
• Hybrid or experimental forms

Why Clio

Clio is supported by professors from leading Classics departments—Harvard, Yale, and UPenn—who believe that reimagining antiquity is critical work. This is a platform for new voices grounded in timeless questions.
