Hodie et Cras:

An organization dedicated to ushering in the next generation of Classicists.

Hodie et Cras—Latin for "today and tomorrow"—is a first-of-its-kind organization offering high school students an unparalleled opportunity to experience Classics beyond what is offered in traditional classrooms. From workshops to curriculum programming, our unique programming connects the ancient and modern worlds, bringing together passionate students to explore how the past continues to shape the future.

If you're curious about studying Classics beyond high school, Hodie et Cras is an unprecedented opportunity to experience the field in ways never before offered at this level.

What have we done?

In March we brought together high schoolers from all over New England for a day of presentations, discussions, and workshops in Classics at Yale. Students interacted with Yale faculty, exploring connections between ancient texts and modern questions. The event created a collaborative space where young Classicists could see themselves as part of the field’s future.

Why it Matters

The study of the ancient world shouldn’t be limited by outdated textbooks or unclear pathways. Hodie et Cras opens the door to what’s next in Classics by making space for young voices, new questions, and better access.

Student Classics Symposiums

Hodie et Cras hosts student-led Classics symposiums at universities such as Harvard and Yale. These events bring high school students into direct conversation with leading Classicists, offering a space to present research, share ideas, and build community. Each symposium is free, selective, and designed to make the ancient world accessible and relevant today.
